Jordi Gomez struck a second half hat-trick to bring Wigan from behind and save Ali Al-Habsi’s blushes after the keeper’s late blunder.
It’s very hard to see further than a player who has scored a ‘perfect hat-trick’ when awarding a MOTM award, and I’ve chose the Wigan man for his match winning performance.
Gomez was easily the game’s best player as he bombarded the Reading goal with 9 shots, 5 which were on target and 3 which ended in the back of the net.
He also created 4 chances for his teammates and completed his 2 dribbles in a performance that will last long in the memory.
