Ahead of Manchester United’s Fifth Round draw against Reading in the FA Cup, Robin van Persie has expressed that he would like to start the game than being rested for the fixture. The Dutch striker has conveyed that it would likely help him to play two games every week. However, there is a worry that there might be an effect of fatigue while being subjected to two fixtures a week.

In all competitions, van Persie is currently leading with 23 goals in 32 appearances. He is the leading goal scorer for Manchester United. Trailing behind him is Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney.
Van Persie thinks that when playing for Manchester United, “every game is a big game.” He also stated that there are extra-special games such as derby games against Manchester City or Liverpool or playing against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Even the small fixtures are important because winning those games make the difference in becoming a champion.
Manchester United will seek a win against Reading to continue their hunt for a treble this year. The last time Manchester United won the FA Cup was 2004.
