Norwich 1 – 0 Stoke
Norwich built on their three-game unbeaten run to earn a valuable win against a Stoke side that look like they need a Plan B.
Last week I gave Wes Hoolahan the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his performance against Aston Villa, and again I think he was the standout performer.
Hoolahan’s return to the starting XI has coincided with a run of four games without a loss in all competitions for the Canaries.
He was again the home side’s most creative player as he laid on three chances and one clear-cut chance. He also managed the most penalty area entries of his team-mates.
Hoolahan’s 80% passing accuracy represented a decline on last week’s 87% accuracy, but he faced a bigger and more physical challenge in the form of Steven N’Zonzi and Dean Whitehead than he did against Karim El Ahmadi last week.
If Norwich can continue to play through Hoolahan, and keep the impressive Alexander Tettey fit, they will have a much better chance of achieving a mid-table finish come May.
