Spurs struggled to break down a rugged Stoke City defence despite having the majority of the possession and shots. Van der Vaart was their saviour in the end getting onto the end of a Gareth Bale cross. The shot stats above only show the on target and off target shots but Stoke were resilient and blocked many attempts from Spurs (as the stats below will show).
Stoke City took the lead when Cameron Jerome prodded home to send White Hart Lane into shock and give Stoke a chance of a league double over Spurs. As you can see from the stats above Stoke City fought hard yesterday and won the majority of ground and aerial duels.
