Premier League Opta Stats Round Up | Night of Comebacks…

qpr lfc match stats Premier League Opta Stats Round Up | Night of Comebacks...Queens Park Rangers got the result of the night with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool. Liverpool will be wondering how they’ve managed to lose this game as they were coasting at 2-0 and should have been ahead by a larger margin than that.

Liverpool outpassed, out shot and even won more duels than their hosts but somehow found themselves on the losing side. The chance conversion statistic in the table above is the most telling – QPR took their chances.

Queens Park Rangers levelled the game with two crosses into the area that were met by Derry and Cisse to head home the goals. This seems to be a problem for Liverpool as they’ve conceded many headed goals, in recent weeks alone they’ve conceded four now to Van Persie, Crouch, Derry and Cisse. A defensive mix up allowed Mackie in to snatch a victory and all credit to QPR for coming back into the game and taking their chances in the last fifteen minutes. A superb turnaround for them and their fans. Can they now kick on and survive?

Here are some passing stats from the game:

I cannot believe how poor we (Chelsea) were in midfield. We just let them dominate the midfield.

Might have been a little different if they had started with Essien instead of Meireles in there. Mikel and Essien may have held the midfield a little better. Who actually played wide for Chelsea or were they narrow yesterday?
